Brunswick Stew and Bluegrass Gospel Music
Join us for an uplifting evening of bluegrass Gospel music with the talented local band Wreck Island Revival on Sunday, October 19, at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Liberty Baptist Church.
Before the concert, enjoy freshly made Brunswick stew, corn bread, rolls, apple butter, and homemade pumpkin, apple, and pecan pie in the Fellowship Hall starting at 5:30 PM. The food and the concert are FREE!

AWANA Nerf & Nachos Night
Grab your Nerf gun and a friend (or five) and join us for a crazy night of bunker battles, nachos, Bible study, and Scripture memory on Sunday, October 19th starting at 6:00 pm! All kids 2-years-old through 5th grade are invited. We will provide plenty of ammo, eye protection, and nachos for all!

Young Adults Corn Maze
YAM (Young Adult Ministry) will once again be taking on the 11-acre Corn Maze at Yoder's Farm in Rustburg on Friday evening October 24th. Men's Ministry Breakfast
The Men’s Ministry will be having breakfast on Saturday, October 25th at 9:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. There is no charge for this event, however, individuals planning to attend must register online or in the church office by October 18th.

Miscarriage & Infertility Support

Goodyears Murder on the Orient Express at LU
The Goodyears are planning to see Murder on the Orient Express at Liberty University’s Tower Theater on Saturday, October 25th. The show starts at 2:00 pm and the cost is $14 per person. Space is limited to 25 tickets, so please sign up on the church website or in the office ASAP.

Youth Fearless Feast Night at Dark Leaf Farms
The youth group and their families are invited to Dark Leaf Farms on Saturday, October 25th for the Fearless Feast Night! Dinner will be served from 6pm -7pm. Then, families can enjoy barrel rides, hayrides, pedal carts, tunnel slide, and the Haunted Corn Maze! Register online.

Red Cross Blood Mobile
The American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be in the Fellowship Hall on Monday, October 27th from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. If you would like to schedule a time to donate blood, please call 1-800-733-2767 or visit RedCrossBlood.org.

Trunk or Treat Outreach Table
In conjunction with the Trunk-or Treat event at the church, we are planning another fun interactive activity for the kids this year that is also evangelistic in nature. Come experience the joy of helping kids make the connection between the free gift of candy and the free gift of grace when Jesus died on the cross. Trunk-or-Treat Fall Festival
On Friday, October 31st, starting at 6:00 pm, join us in Liberty Field for a fun night of candy and fall festivities! Kids and families can get treats from decorated trunks, collecting candy as they go. Then, stay and play on a variety of inflatables, slide down the Hay Slide, experience a pony ride, and enjoy the Hayride to work off some of that sugary energy!
If you would like to host a trunk, or help supervise the hay slides or an inflatable, please register here! There is a max capacity of 40 trunks, plus six inflatables and the hay slides to choose from! Pizza dinner will be provided to all Event Team members at 5:15, and trunks should be set up in Liberty Field by 5:45.

Operation Christmas Child Kick-Off Sunday
Sunday, November 2nd, will be the Operation Christmas Child Kick-off! Shoeboxes can be found in the Sanctuary, by the church office, and at the back of the Ministry Center. Filled shoeboxes should be held until Collection Sunday, November 16th.

Men’s Retreat
The Men’s Ministry of Liberty Baptist Church is planning a Men’s Retreat at the James River State Park on Friday, November 7, 2025 – Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event will begin with dinner on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday. This retreat has proven to be a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with other men from Liberty while we grow in the Lord.
Our speaker this year is Dr. Gene Mims, senior pastor of The Gathering at 840 in Tennessee. He is a former vice president for LifeWay Christian Resources and a current member of the Liberty University Board of Trustees. Cliff Lambert, our worship pastor, will also be leading us in praise and worship.

Ladies Soup and Paint Night

Congregational Meeting
There will be a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 16th at 4:00pm in the Sanctuary. The Financial Report will be given, as well as reports from the Elders, Stewardship Committee, etc. This meeting is to inform the church about matters of church business, along with giving an opportunity to submit approval/disapproval cards on subjects that require congregational approval.

Invite all your friends, put on your favorite Christmas attire, and join us for the final Awana night of 2025! Lottie Waddle
The Lottie Waddle Turkey Trot is a walk/run 5K held at 9:00 am on Thanksgiving Day. There is an entry fee of $10 per individual, or $20 per family, that goes towards reaching our Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Registration will take place in the Ministry Center from 8:00-8:45 am, with the Turkey Trot starting at 9:00 am. Please register online by Wednesday, November 26th, by 9:00pm.

Turkey Bowl Flag Football Game
After the Lottie Waddle at 10am, a flag football game (called the Turkey Bowl) will be played at Liberty Field and will conclude at noon. Please register online.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering & Week of Prayer
November 30th through December 7th is the Lottie Moon Christmas offering and Week of Prayer for International Missions. This is a time when we, as Southern Baptists, set aside each year to focus on our international missionaries and the work they do to lead people to Christ. On November 30th, a brochure highlighting them and the work they are doing will be available so you can pray for their needs. An envelope will be in the brochure for your offering. Please give what the Lord lays on your heart, so that the missionaries work can continue and many more can come to Christ. Will you be a part of this great work? Your checks should be made payable to Liberty Baptist Church and indicate on the check for Lottie Moon. This year Liberty’s goal is $30,000. What part will you give?

Christmas Time is Here
On Sunday, November 30th, you and your family are invited to Liberty Baptist Church to participate in three experiences to start your Christmas season off with joy! From 5:00 -7:00 pm, get a FREE treat from various food trucks. At 6:00 pm in front of the Ministry Center, gather around a fully decorated Christmas tree to count down the illumination. KIDSing Program, The Christmas Dream Team Parade
Join us Sunday, December 7th at 7:00 pm in the Ministry Center for The Christmas Dream Team Parade KIDSing program. It’s Christmas Eve at the Carter home, and everyone is excited about the Christmas parade. However, the Carter kids begin to lose sight of the true reason we celebrate Christmas. This musical from Celeste and David T. Clydesdale combines fun songs and engaging drama to teach kids that Christmas is not simply about the gifts underneath the tree, but about the gift of Christ’s life. Join the adventure as the characters learn about the importance of following Jesus and celebrating His gift of life above everything else.

LBC Kids Gingerbread Bash
This is a fun event for the whole family, as you build a gingerbread nativity while celebrating the birth of Jesus - and you get to take it home! During the night, you'll hear the Christmas story from the Bible, sing songs, play games, and discover the good news of Jesus through candy canes! We'll also have cookies, hot chocolate, and a festive backdrop for family photos!

Railroad Festival Float
LBC Kids will have a fall themed float included in this year’s Annual Railroad Festival parade on Saturday morning, October 11th. Any children who want to ride on the float should register by October 6th. If you have any questions, please contact the church office (434-352-2336).

Railroad Festival Outreach Table
On Saturday, October 11th from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, we need 8-10 volunteers to work 1-2 hour shifts to help us reach out to the community and invite them to church. Harvest Day
At both our 9:30 am and 11:00 am services, we will be celebrating 191 years of God’s faithfulness at Liberty Baptist Church. The guest speaker will be David Chauncey. As done in previous years, there will be a catered fellowship meal that will happen in two shifts. There will be a meal served at 11:00 am and another meal served at 12:00pm. These two meals will occur immediately after the 9:30 am and 11:00 am services and will be served by the Fellowship Committee through a buffet line in the Old Fellowship Hall. Seating will be available in the Fellowship Hall.

Weekenders Pumpkins, Soup, Bonfire
Join the Weekenders for a fun fall family event on October 4th! Tim and Brittney Detweiler are graciously hosting. Bring your family and a crockpot of your favorite soup or a dessert. Yes, you read that right! We're going to celebrate Thanksgiving together, but early, before the season gets too crazy. Join us for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, everything provided; just bring yourself. Students are invited to show up for Jesus before school begins on Wednesday, September 24 for See You At The Pole! Show up early to your school flagpole to pray for God to be glorified and for His protection and provision over our school, community, state, nation, and world. Your gathering could include student-led worship, Bible reading, prayer in large and small groups, and even a message by a student leader. Check with your school to confirm meeting times.

Golden Girls' (Widows) Progressive Dinner
The Widow’s Ministry of Liberty Baptist Church is hosting a Golden Girls Progressive Dinner on Saturday, September 20th beginning at 4:15 pm. The event will consist of an appetizer course, soup course, salad course, entrée course, and dessert course that will be hosted at various members’ homes. A New Members Class is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th starting at 9:00 am in rooms 206/207 for anyone who is interested in becoming a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Young Adults Retreat, Known and Called
Come join us in getting away for a weekend to focus on our walk with Christ at Watermarks Camp in Scottsville, VA. Vision Virginia Week of Prayer
The week of September 14th through September 21st is the 2025 Vision Virginia Week of Prayer and Offering for Missions. Vision Virginia is the SBC of Virginia missions offering. Every contribution made goes to the mission field to support various ministries of the SBC of Virginia. Ensure to read the Proclaimer for more information, as well as to receive an offering envelope for this week of prayer. Liberty’s goal this year is $8,000. Please pray and consider what God would have you give in support of these missions.
WMU Yard Sale
WMU will have a yard sale on Saturday, September 13th from 7:00 am to noon, with all proceeds going to Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong offerings. The set-up will start on Thursday, September 11th at 1:00 pm, and take place all day on Friday, September 12th starting at 9:00 am. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the church on Thursday and Friday only. For any items you may need picked up, please contact Linda Moon at 434-665-6270 and she will arrange the pickup. Outreach Ministry Interest Meeting

Young Adults Welcome Back Gathering
The Young Adult Ministry will be welcoming back our college students and kicking off the new school year on Friday, September 5, from 6:00-9:00pm at the McSweeney’s home. We will be eating dinner, playing games, sharing hugs, and casting vision for the new year as we welcome friends--new and old. All young adults ages 18-30 are invited. LBC Kids Drive-in Movie Night
Kids are invited to grab a box and create their own custom car for our Drive-In Movie Night! We will be munching on popcorn and watching Finding Nemo on the big screens in the Ministry Center. All families with kids up through fifth grade are welcome to bring chairs or a blanket, and enjoy the movie, as well!

Red Cross Blood Mobile

Trail Life Adventures Base Camp Canoeing

KidServe Kickoff
KidServe will start on Wednesday, August 20th, at 6:30 pm in the upstairs children’s area. This is an opportunity for kids ages 4-years through 5th grade to use their gifts to serve our church and community. This ministry will meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesday and will include games, music, crafts, a missions lesson, and a service project.

Centra Mammography Van
As a service to our community, the mammography van is coming to LBC on Tuesday, August 19th from 7:30 am until 2:20 pm. They will be performing screenings for eligible women ages 40 and over who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months.
