LBC Kids Skate, Cycle, and Scoot
If you love to roller skate, ride a bike, or roll on your scooter, join us on Labor Day Sunday for night full of food, fun, and fellowship outdoors! Whether you prefer two wheels, four wheels, or more wheels, come ride around the Ministry Center parking lot, while also enjoying hotdogs, popcorn, and other great treats! This great event is for all families with kids up through 5th grade
WMU Yard Sale
WMU will have a yard sale on Saturday, September 12th from 7:00 am to noon, with all proceeds going to Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong offerings. The set-up will start on Thursday, September 10th at 1:00 pm, and take place all day on Friday, September 111th starting at 9:00 am. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the church on Friday. For any items you may need picked up, please contact Linda Moon (434-665-6270) and she will arrange the pickup. Volunteers are needed to help with the set-up and clean-up, as well as on the day of the sale. If you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions, please contact Linda Moon.
Worship Arts Collective Fall Fellowship
WAC friends are invited to a get together for a fun night at the Baileys’ house on the evening of Sept 12th! We’ll enjoy yummy desserts and plenty of time to hang out and have fun together with pickleball, basketball, Ranger rides, games, and more! Vision Virginia Week of Prayer
The week of September 13th through September 20th is the 2026 Vision Virginia Week of Prayer and Offering for Missions. Vision Virginia is the SBC of Virginia missions offering. Every contribution made goes to the mission field to support various ministries of the SBC of Virginia. Ensure to read the Proclaimer for more information, as well as to receive an offering envelope for this week of prayer. Liberty’s goal this year is $8,000. Please pray and consider what God would have you give in support of these missions.
Goodyears Gathering
On Wednesday, September 16th at noon, the Goodyears (ages 55+) will have their monthly get-together and luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. Please follow the Proclaimer for finalized details and sign up information.
Trail Life Navigators Wood Tools Competition Camp
On Friday and Saturday, September 18th – 19th, the Navigators unit (6th – 8th grade) will learn how to handle and take care of sharp tools, sharpen axes and knives, and more. There will be exciting competitions in throwing axes, chopping wood, making log cabin beaver tail logs, and much more at our local Troop Base Camp. Dads are welcome to come and show off their skills or simply learn. Please bring your camping gear. Food will be provided.
Trail Life Hit Event – Blue Ridge Parkway Hike
On Saturday, September 19th, the Woodlands unit (Kindergarten – 5th grade) will participate in a hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Dads are welcome to come along on this hike.
Walk for Life
We invite you to Walk for Life at one of the five Walk for Life events this September through the Pregnancy Support Center of Southside Virginia! The funds raised from this year’s Walk for Life will help the ministry of the Pregnancy Support Center continue life-affirming programs that bring hope to those who are impacted by pregnancy within our community. Men's Retreat
The Men’s Ministry of Liberty Baptist Church is planning a Men’s Retreat at the James River State Park on Friday, September 25 – Saturday, September 26. The event will begin with dinner on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday. This retreat has proven to be a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with other men from Liberty while we grow in the Lord. Our speaker this year is Wilson Caldwell, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia. Cliff Lambert our Worship Pastor will also be leading us once again in praise and worship. Space for the weekend is limited, so please sign up online or in the church office. The cost for the weekend, including lodging and all food, is $55 per person. Youth Fall Retreat
Join us for our Youth Fall Retreat on September 25th–26th as we take a break from the normal routine, spend time together, and most importantly, grow closer to God! This two-day retreat will be filled with worship, Bible teaching, fellowship, food, games, and fun. We’ll have a special guest speaker joining us as we spend time in God’s Word and challenge one another to grow in our faith and live it out every day.
Friday, September 25th | 5:30–10:00 pm
We’ll kick off the retreat with dinner, session 1, and a fun late-night activity. Students will then head home for the evening before returning Saturday morning.
Saturday, September 26th | 9:00 AM–3:30 pm
Saturday will include breakfast, lunch, sessions 2 and 3, and an afternoon activity.
The cost is $35 per student and includes: a retreat T-shirt, 3 meals, 2 activities, and all retreat sessions and programming. The retreat will take place in the Ministry Center. Trail Life Adventurers Appalachian Trail Hike
On Friday and Saturday, September 25th – 26th, the Adventures unit (9th – 12th grade) will camp and hike in the Appalachian Mountains. This challenging hike will press your strength and stamina. Dads are welcome to come for the camp and hike. Don’t let your son get the best of you!
Women's Mentoring Kickoff
Join us for our Women's Ministry Mentoring Kickoff on Saturday, September 26th in the Sanctuary from 9:30 am-11:30 am as we begin this journey together. During our time, we will:
• Discover the biblical vision for mentoring from Titus 2:3–5
• Connect with your mentor/mentee pairing
• Exchange contact information.
• Receive your mentoring books and materials
• Explore practical ideas for meaningful one-on-one meetups throughout the year

Liberty Kids Cookie Outreach - Soccer Fields
Join Liberty Kids as they hand out cookies and drinks to the players, coaches, and families at the Appomattox Community Park on Saturday morning, October 3rd! We will have the opportunity to show the love of Christ to families in our community and share with them about our fall events in Liberty Kids and at Liberty Baptist! Trail Life Navigators Falling Water Cascades Trail Hike
On Saturday, October 3rd at 9:00 am, the Navigators unit (6th – 8th grade) will leave Liberty Baptist Church and enjoy another hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains headed toward Falling Water Cascades Trail. Come on dads, let’s hit the trail and enjoy a beautiful hike!
Deeply Rooted Breakfast Club
Join us this fall for Coffee & Community, a relaxed morning for women walking through all seasons of infertility and loss. Whether you are currently navigating infertility, have experienced loss, are waiting and hoping, or are further along in your journey, you are welcome here. Enjoy coffee, a light breakfast, and a simple craft or activity while we connect, encourage one another, and create space to simply be. No pressure, no expectations, just community and a reminder that you are not alone, and God is with you in every season. This takes place at 9:30 am in the Ministry Center upstairs youth area. Harvest Day
At both our 9:30 am and 11:00 am services, we will be celebrating 192 years of God’s faithfulness at Liberty Baptist Church. The speaker will be Associate Pastor Ishmael LaBiosa.
As provided in previous years, there will be a catered fellowship meal that will happen in two shifts. There will be a meal served at 11:00 am and another meal served at 12:00pm. These two meals will occur immediately after the 9:30 am and 11:00 am services and will be served by the Fellowship Committee through a buffet line in the Old Fellowship Hall. Seating will be available in the Fellowship Hall.
Railroad Festival Float
Liberty Kids will have a fall-themed float included in this year’s Annual Railroad Festival parade on Saturday morning, October 10th. Any children who want to ride on the float should register online by October 5th. If you have any questions, please contact the church office (434-352-2336).

New Members Class
A New Members Class is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th starting at 9:00 am in rooms 206/207 for anyone who is interested in becoming a member of Liberty Baptist Church. This class will be a time to ask questions, as well as familiarize yourself with the Church Structure, Communication Chart, By-Laws, Baptist Faith, etc. For anyone interested in attending this class, please register online or call the office (434-352-2336) by Wednesday, October 14th.
Men's Ministry Chili Cook-Off & Bonfire
Gentlemen, it is time to heat things up! Join us for an evening of great food, friendly competition, and a classic backyard bonfire. This takes place on Saturday, November 7 from 5pm - 8pm at Danny Matullo’s home. Bring your best culinary creations for some healthy competition. We are crowning winners for best chili, side dish, and dessert. Expect plenty of laughs, backyard games like Cornhole, and a roaring bonfire. Faith & Family Night - Hill City Howlers
Join us for Faith & Family Night with the Hill City Howlers on Friday, August 28th! First pitch is at 6:30 PM, and the evening will conclude with a special post-game worship experience led by Liberty University Worship Collective.
This event also serves as a fundraiser for our Student Ministry. Tickets are $8 each, and when you purchase through Liberty Baptist Church, $3 from every ticket sold goes directly toward helping lower the cost for our students to attend the Youth Evangelism Conference this upcoming January. Red Cross Blood Mobile

Hispanic Church 7th Anniversary Celebration
Come celebrate NUEVA VISIÓN’s (Liberty Baptist Church's Hispanic Ministry) 7th anniversary. Everyone is welcome to attend the service and brunch in the Fellowship Hall. As a Spanish Ministry, their desire is that every person follows Christ, shares Christ, and glorifies Christ. They are a church that grows, loves, serves, and transforms Appomattox and its surrounding communities; a church where everyone is an essential part of “the Great Commission.”
Trail Life Museum of the Bible Trip
On Saturday, August 22nd, the Navigators will take a day trip to the Museum of the Bible to explore history and exhibits.
Trail Life Major Service Project
From August 21st through August 23rd, the Adventurers will participate in a major service project. This will be a great opportunity to serve the community.
Centra Mammography Van
As a service to our community, the mammography van is coming to LBC on Tuesday, August 21st from 7:30 am until 2:20 pm. They will be performing screenings for eligible women ages 40 and over who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months. KidServe Kickoff
KidServe will start on Wednesday, August 19th, at 6:30 pm in the upstairs children’s area. This is an opportunity for kids ages 4-years through 5th grade to use their gifts to serve our church and community. This ministry will meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesday and will include games, music, crafts, a missions lesson, and a service project.
Goodyears
The Goodyears (ages 55+) are in the process of planning their meeting that will be held on August 19th at noon in the church Fellowship Hall. Please be sure to follow the church announcements for final details and sign-up information.
Children Nutrition Ministry Kick-off Meeting
The Children's Nutrition Ministry will have a Kick-off Meeting on Tuesday, August 18th at 7:00 pm in the Old Fellowship Hall. There are weekly volunteer needs throughout the school year, as well as a need for financial support. If you are willing to volunteer, please plan to attend this meeting on August 18th at 7:00 pm. Sunday Night Kids Kickoff
Sunday Night Kids is BACK!! We kick off a brand-new year of ministry on Sunday night, August 16th, beginning at 5:00 pm with KidSing and KidSing Jr., followed by Awana at 6:00. Each Sunday night will be filled with exciting music, engaging Bible teaching, small group discipleship and Scripture memory, and high-energy games. KidSing and KidSing Jr. are open to kids ages 4-years through 5th grade, and Awana is open to kids ages 2-years through 12th grade. Worship Arts Collective (WAC) Kickoff!
WAC is Back! 6th-12th grade students are invited to join us on Sunday, August 16th, at 5:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall as we kick off a brand-new season of WAC! Whether you love music, instruments, drama, singing, or the creative arts, this is the perfect opportunity to reconnect, get inspired, and prepare for an exciting fall semester together. Students will have the chance to learn about upcoming productions, musical pieces, musical mentoring, and opportunities to grow in creativity while using the arts for God’s glory. From drama and musical theater to instrumental and vocal performance, there is a place for everyone to participate and belong. High School Pool Social
Looking for a great way to wrap up the summer? Join us for a pool hangout at the Matullo home on Saturday, August 15, from 6–9 PM. Come relax by the pool, swim, connect with friends, and enjoy a fun evening together before the school year gets into full swing.

Congregational Meeting
There will be a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, August 9th at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The Financial Report will be given, as well as reports from the Elders, Stewardship Committee, etc. This meeting is to inform the church about matters of church business, along with giving an opportunity to submit approval/disapproval cards on subjects that require congregational approval.
LBC Kids Back-to-School Bash
On Sunday, August 9th starting at 3:00 pm, LBC Kids will bid a fond farewell to summer with one final party! Kids should be prepared to get wet, and parents will be able to register for the upcoming Cherub Choir, KidSing, and Awana year! This event is free and open to ALL families in the community, so invite your friends!

Back-to-School Putt-Putt
Students entering 6th–12th grade are invited to join us for a Back-to-School Putt-Putt Event on August 1 at 5:00 PM at Putt-Putt Fun Center! The cost of this event is $15 per student. Come hang out with friends, enjoy some friendly competition, and kick off the new school year with us.
Back-To-School Event
On Saturday, August 1st starting at 9:00 am, the Back-To-School Event will be held in the Ministry Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for the members of Liberty Baptist Church to come together to provide school supplies to Appomattox County families in need. There are opportunities for purchasing supplies, donating funds, packing boxes, and helping with the distribution of supplies. We provide a complete set of school-determined supplies for Appomattox students from kindergarten through the 8th grade who preregister. Youth Worship Night

Ladies are invited for a lake day at the Moon's Lakehouse on Buggs Island on Saturday, July 25th. Enjoy the lake, lunch, swimming, boat rides, and fellowship! LBC Kids Swim Night at the Canada’s
Join LBC Kids for a pool party at the home of Johnny and Vicki Canada on Sunday, July 19th from 5-7 pm! All kids from Pre-K through completed 5th grade are invited for swimming and popsicles!
