LBC Kids Drive-in Movie Night
Kids are invited to grab a box and create their own custom car for our Drive-In Movie Night! We will be munching on popcorn and watching Finding Nemo on the big screens in the Ministry Center. All families with kids up through fifth grade are welcome to bring chairs or a blanket, and enjoy the movie, as well!

Young Adults Welcome Back Gathering
The Young Adult Ministry will be welcoming back our college students and kicking off the new school year on Friday, September 5, from 6:00-9:00pm at the McSweeney’s home. We will be eating dinner, playing games, sharing hugs, and casting vision for the new year as we welcome friends--new and old. All young adults ages 18-30 are invited. 5th Quarter Youth Event
All middle and high school students in the surrounding communities are invited to a night of fun at Liberty Baptist Church. Outreach Ministry Interest Meeting
Do you have a heart for the lost? Are you interested in reaching out to others in the community? We have several opportunities this fall and would love to tell you more about them! WMU Yard Sale
WMU will have a yard sale on Saturday, September 13th from 7:00 am to noon, with all proceeds going to Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong offerings. The set-up will start on Thursday, September 11th at 1:00 pm, and take place all day on Friday, September 12th starting at 9:00 am. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the church on Thursday and Friday only. For any items you may need picked up, please contact Linda Moon at 434-665-6270 and she will arrange the pickup. Volunteers are needed to help with the set-up and clean-up, as well as on the day of the sale. If you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions, please contact Linda Moon.

Vision Virginia Week of Prayer
The week of September 14th through September 21st is the 2025 Vision Virginia Week of Prayer and Offering for Missions. Vision Virginia is the SBC of Virginia missions offering. Every contribution made goes to the mission field to support various ministries of the SBC of Virginia. Ensure to read the Proclaimer for more information, as well as to receive an offering envelope for this week of prayer. Liberty’s goal this year is $8,000. Please pray and consider what God would have you give in support of these missions.

Goodyears Gathering
On Wednesday, September 17th at noon, the Goodyears (ages 55+) will have their monthly get-together and luncheon. Please follow the Proclaimer for finalized details and sign up information.
Young Adults Retreat, Known and Called
Come join us in getting away for a weekend to focus on our walk with Christ at Watermarks Camp in Scottsville, VA. All young adults (ages 18-29) are invited to participate in a retreat hosted by SBCV September 19th through September 21st. There will be a small cost to defray the expense of food and lodging, but finances should not keep anyone who wants to come from coming. New Members Class
A New Members Class is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th starting at 9:00 am in rooms 206/207 for anyone who is interested in becoming a member of Liberty Baptist Church. This class will be a time to ask questions, as well as familiarize yourself with the Church Structure, Communication Chart, By-Laws, Baptist Faith, etc. For anyone interested in attending this class, please register on the church website or call the office (434-352-2336) by Wednesday, September 10th.

Golden Girls' (Widows) Progressive Dinner
The Widow’s Ministry of Liberty Baptist Church is hosting a Golden Girls Progressive Dinner on Saturday, September 20th beginning at 4:15 pm. The event will consist of an appetizer course, soup course, salad course, entrée course, and dessert course that will be hosted at various members’ homes. There is no cost for the event, but registration is required either online or through the church office. Space is limited. Church bus transportation will be provided. We invite you to join us praying for Hispanic and Latino missionaries, many of whom are serving among people groups who are hard to reach with the gospel.

See You At The Pole
Students are invited to show up for Jesus before school begins on Wednesday, September 24 for See You At The Pole! Show up early to your school flagpole to pray for God to be glorified and for His protection and provision over our school, community, state, nation, and world. Your gathering could include student-led worship, Bible reading, prayer in large and small groups, and even a message by a student leader. Check with your school to confirm meeting times.

Sojourners' Thanksgiving Dinner
Yes, you read that right! We're going to celebrate Thanksgiving together, but early, before the season gets too crazy. Join us for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, everything provided; just bring yourself. We'll eat at 5:00 pm at the Clarks’ Home, but we'd love to have some of you come earlier to help get things ready and have extra time for fellowship! Youth & Rollercoasters
Take the challenge to ride The Big Bad Wolf – the newest rollercoaster at Bush Gardens! Invite your family and friends to join us on Saturday, October 4 for this one-day adventure. Register to purchase tickets and confirm transportation.

Harvest Day
At both our 9:30 am and 11:00 am services, we will be celebrating 191 years of God’s faithfulness at Liberty Baptist Church. The guest speaker will be David Chauncey. As done in previous years, there will be a catered fellowship meal that will happen in two shifts. There will be a meal served at 11:00 am and another meal served at 12:00pm. These two meals will occur immediately after the 9:30 am and 11:00 am services and will be served by the Fellowship Committee through a buffet line in the Old Fellowship Hall. Seating will be available in the Fellowship Hall.

Railroad Festival Float
LBC Kids will have a fall themed float included in this year’s Annual Railroad Festival parade on Saturday morning, October 11th. Men’s Retreat
The Men’s Ministry of Liberty Baptist Church is planning a Men’s Retreat at the James River State Park on Friday, November 7, 2025 – Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event will begin with dinner on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday. This retreat has proven to be a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with other men from Liberty while we grow in the Lord.
Our speaker this year is Dr. Gene Mims, senior pastor of The Gathering at 840 in Tennessee. He is a former vice president for LifeWay Christian Resources and a current member of the Liberty University Board of Trustees. Cliff Lambert, our worship pastor, will also be leading us in praise and worship.

Red Cross Blood Mobile

KidServe Kickoff
KidServe will start on Wednesday, August 20th, at 6:30 pm in the upstairs children’s area. This is an opportunity for kids ages 4-years through 5th grade to use their gifts to serve our church and community. This ministry will meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesday and will include games, music, crafts, a missions lesson, and a service project.

Centra Mammography Van
As a service to our community, the mammography van is coming to LBC on Tuesday, August 19th from 7:30 am until 2:20 pm. They will be performing screenings for eligible women ages 40 and over who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months. Children Nutrition Ministry Kick-off Meeting
The Children's Nutrition Ministry will have a Kick-off Meeting on Monday, August 18th at 7:00 pm in the Old Fellowship Hall. There are weekly volunteer needs throughout the school year, as well as a need for financial support. If you are willing to volunteer, please plan to attend this meeting on August 18th at 7:00 pm. Sunday Night Kids Kickoff
Sunday Night Kids is BACK!! We kick off a brand-new year of ministry on Sunday night, August 17th, beginning at 5:00 pm with Cherub Choir and KidSing, followed by Awana at 6:00! Each Sunday night will be filled with exciting music, engaging Bible teaching, small group discipleship and Scripture memory, and high-energy games! Cherub Choir and KidSing are open to kids ages 4-years through 5th grade, and Awana is open to kids ages 2-years through 5th grade! Worship Arts Collective
Liberty Baptist is launching the Worship Arts Collective, meeting on Sundays at 5pm in the fellowship hall and choir room located next to the church office. This opportunity is for grades 6-12 led by Melissa Bailey, Melissa Small and friends— where music meets ministry, and fun meets faith! Whether you're a student new to singing or already love using your voice, this is the perfect place to grow. You'll learn basic music reading skills, discover how to sing in harmony, and build confidence in your musical talents — all while being part of a supportive, uplifting community. But it's more than just music. This choir will offer exciting ministry opportunities, worship leading and creative performances that will let students share God's love through song. And of course, it will be lots of fun with plenty of snacks, games, and friendship. Register online to sing with us, grow with us, and make memories with other youth!

Youth Bowling
The youth group is bowling on Friday, August 15! Food, drinks, shoes, bowling, and arcade card will only cost $15. Registration is required to reserve adequate bowling lanes. We will drive to AMF Lynchburg Lanes off Candler's Mountain Road in Lynchburg to start bowling at 7pm. We plan to return to the church at 10pm.

Deadline for Fall Bible Studies and Groups
Fall is right around the corner and with that comes new Bible studies and groups. If you have a study that you would like to start in the fall, please submit your information to the church office by Monday, August 11th.

Congregational Meeting
There will be a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, August 10th at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary. The Financial Report will be given, as well as reports from the Elders, Stewardship Committee, etc. This meeting is to inform the church about matters of church business, along with giving an opportunity to submit approval/disapproval cards on subjects that require congregational approval.

LBC Kids Back-to-School Bash
On Sunday, August 10th, LBC Kids will bid a fond farewell to summer with one final party! Kids should be prepared to get wet, and parents will be able to register for the upcoming Cherub Choir, KidSing, and Awana year! This event is free and open to ALL families in the community, so invite your friends!

Trail Life Navigators Base Camp Trail Skills

Sojourners Hillcats Baseball Game
The Sojourners (ages 45-65) are planning a trip to a Hillcats game (6:30 pm game) on August 2nd. Join us for a fun evening of baseball! This year we are doing tickets only. Back-To-School Event
On Saturday, August 2nd starting at 9:00 am, the Back-To-School Event will be held in the Ministry Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for the members of Liberty Baptist Church to come together to provide school supplies to Appomattox County families in need. There are opportunities for purchasing supplies, donating funds, packing boxes, and helping with the distribution of supplies. We provide a complete set of school-determined supplies for Appomattox students from kindergarten through the 8th grade who preregister. Join Catherine Renfro, North American Mission Board’s National Director of Women’s Evangelism, as she shares knowledge and passion to share the gospel in a way that is authentic to Scripture and comfortable for women. LBC Kids Swim Night at the Canada's
Join LBC Kids for a pool party at the home of Johnny and Vicki Canada on Sunday, July 27th from 5-7 pm! All kids from Pre-K through completed 5th grade are invited for swimming and popsicles! Ladies Lake Day
Ladies are invited for a day at the lake at the Moon’s Lakehouse on Buggs Island on Saturday, July 26th. Enjoy the lake, lunch, swimming, boat rides, and fellowship! They will depart LBC at 8:30 am and return by 8:30 pm. Please register online by July 18th so preparations can be made for food and transportation.

Youth Game Night
Middle and high schoolers – don’t miss out on an epic summer night of fun, food, and friends! Join us Friday, July 25 for Youth Game Night at the Buschman’s home! Get ready for a mix of awesome outdoor and indoor games, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and a cozy fire pit to roast marshmallows under the stars and recognize how good God is.

LBC Kids Summer Skate Night at AJ's
On Sunday, July 13th, families are invited to join us from 5:30-7:30 pm at AJ's Skateworld for LBC Kids Summer Skate Night! Admission and skate rental will be free for all members of the family.
